Ancient HF Types
ust had an absolute shit local meeting here. I'm on the club executive, but the whole show seems to be run by this aged retired silverback male who runs it like it's his own personal fiefdom. At one point, the issue of key access to the club hamshack came up and he noted that sometime over the past while, the club had not been properly locked up, and all but fingered me as the culprit. I know damn well that the place was properly locked up the last time I left it, and if he's suggesting otherwise, he better have some proof.
I'm getting really pissed off by the attitudes of some of these ancient HF types, who seem to want to shut down anything new that anyone suggests, and restrict club 'activities' to the monthly meetings and weekly VHF net. Don't these people realize that, without new blood to fill their boots, the amateur radio hobby is all but dead? Why are they trying to drive away the newbies? Has anyone else had this problem with local clubs? Current Mood: pissed off
